Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:142.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/142.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Firefox and go to the Bookmark Manager (Ctrl+Shift+O).
- Create a new custom folder (e.g., "Videos") or use an existing one.
- Navigate to any webpage and press Ctrl+D to bookmark it.
- In the bookmark dialog, select the custom folder from the dropdown and click "Save".
- Return to the Bookmark Manager to check the custom folder.
Actual results:
The newly saved bookmark does NOT appear in the selected custom folder. The only way to ensure the bookmark is saved is to select "Other Bookmarks", where it appears correctly.
Note: Manually dragging and dropping existing bookmarks into custom folders works without issue, confirming the folders themselves are not corrupted.
Expected results:
The bookmark should appear in the custom folder that was selected during the save process.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi,
I tried to reproduce this issue using Firefox 142.0 (2025-08-11) and Firefox 149.0a1 (2026-01-19) on macOS 15 and Windows 10 by following the steps in the description, but I was not able to do so. The newly saved bookmark appears correctly in the custom folder.
Are there any additional steps, settings, or details that I might be missing? Is this still reproducible with a clean profile?
Thank you!
