activating reader mode on some websites jumps to bottom of page

Details

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open any story on https://archiveofourown.org/
  2. While still at the top of the page, hit the reader mode button

Expected behavior

I should still be at the top of the page after reader mode opens

Actual behavior

It scrolls almost to the bottom and I have to scroll back to the top (often quite a long distance) before I can start reading

  • Firefox version: 147
  • Android device model: Samsung Galaxy Tab S8
  • Android OS version: 16

Fwiw I can reproduce this on https://www.royalroad.com/ as well, so it's not just an AO3 problem.

Summary: activating reader mode on archiveofourown.org jumps to bottom of page → activating reader mode on some websites jumps to bottom of page
