I've been working on this and have a patch that will make things work with XML
documents. Will attach patch soon.

Gee. And that works as well-formed XML. Well whaddya know :-) r=jrgm
The previous patch worked only for XHTML documents that had set XHTML namespace
as the default namespace. This patch works with arbitrary XML as well as with
XML files that are transformed via XSLT.
