Autocomplete suggestions in address bar have worsened in the past month

Steps to reproduce:
Began typing address of a commonly visited site.
Actual results:
Now it suggests sites that I haven't (or have very rarely) visited for autocomplete.
I've attached examples - I use web.whatsapp.com frequently and typing "web" used to autocomplete to that address. Now it goes to web.archive.org. Same with maps.google.com - I don't use apple products and have extremely rarely visited maps.apple.com, but now that's the suggestion after I type "maps".
The autocomplete suggestions also don't come with the usual 3 dots in the dropdown to remove them from my history. I'm suspicious that there's an alphabetical issue going on here since both autocomplete suggestions start with A, but maybe it's a false lead.
Expected results:
The bar used to populate with my most-visited site beginning with those letters.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Thank you for the bug report.
The wrong autocomplete issue was fixed in Bug 2010941 which is currently in Firefox 148 (Beta).
