window muting; allowing only one window to be muted at a time (Linux)?

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:147.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/147.0
Steps to reproduce:
there's a KDE bug for this; muting one Firefox in the Icons-and-Text task mutes them all
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375943
the discussion there suggests a solution could be partially upstream
Actual results:
using KDE here. two windows, each with page playing audio
mute one by clicking on the speaker icon for that non-grouped FF window in the task list, OR right click and mute in the menu, and it mutes both windows
I think a gist could be that Firefox (and Chrome) could implement something that better allows DEs/panels/tools to control individual tab audio in a proper way
Expected results:
mute one window, it should not mute the other(s)

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
