Steps to reproduce:
Open Firefox with a couple of thousand tabs open.
147.0.4 (mint-001)
Actual results:
It opened. It has always taken a minute or so to do with this number of tabs.
What's new with 147.0 is that it's very slow afterwards. Clicks or keystrokes take 4+ seconds before their result is actioned, for example.
If I look at about:processes, the main CPU use goes up and down from ~80% to ~190% or more, on a 6 core CPU with 64GB RAM. (btop shows 7.5GB RAM free, 24GB available, so this isn't the PC spending lots of time swapping memory to disc.)
Chromium run at the same time is fine, albeit with considerably fewer tabs open, so it's not the whole PC slowed down, just Firefox.)
It's not usable, unlike 146.x
I apologise that this is not the most helpful bug report - let me know what more info you need.
Removing one 'tab discard' extension - the recommended Auto Tab Discard - and installing another - SleepyTabs has restored usability.
