This is gaining some traction and could be very useful to try to find a more safe use case to allow sites to actuate the page. There is also interest in an associated WebExtension API that would be really nice to have if it comes to fruition. An implementation lets us shape outcomes here a lot more than if we don't have one, so I'm planning on implementing things here.
Triage owner: Feel free to move this to a better component or tell me to make my own and we can migrate this and its children.

Hi Benjamin,
I don't know which existing component is the best fit for this, but I'd say this component is clearly not a right place for this work. Can you please move this bug out of this component? And when you're starting to land patches, I'd appreciate that you can also ensure you set the right component in the in-tree moz.build file so that there won't be unexpected bug component association, e.g. https://searchfox.org/firefox-main/source/dom/moz.build Thank you!

Thanks for moving the component. I went ahead filing bug 2025011 to request change of in-tree BUG_COMPONENT.

Thanks Dan- I moved all of the dependents, but missed this. I'll also fix it in-tree on bug 2025011
