User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:148.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/148.0
Steps to reproduce:
I am an idiot for clicking on a link in a Mozilla Thunderbird mail client marketing email - I wanted to buy a gift for a friend.
Chinese company ecoflow sent me a spam email marketing link (attached) for a sale and I clicked on the link and viewed a few webpages, which seemed real, then I did other work for 15-minutes.
Actual results:
I noticed my entire room getting hot so I checked GNU/Linux top utility which showed "firefox" and a few "Isolated Web Co"ntainers were each using over 30% CPU and my Ubuntu-mate System Monitor showed large network traffic which -ended- as soon as the ecoflow web pages were shown in the foreground again. This pattern of network activity only whilst not observing that Ecoflow Sale web page is suspicious and the very high CPU activity at all times: either observing or not observing the web pages is also uncommon.
Expected results:
I expected that static web pages would not show network activity ever or high CPU activity when in a background tab.
