User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; de-AT; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; de-AT; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 I've ten accounts here (9 e-mail-adresses plus local folder, organized in prefs.js with names mail.server.server1 to mail.server.server10. These entries are sorted alphabetical (server1, server10, server2, etc.). When I decided to delete the e-mail-address behind server1, MailNews deleted all prefs.js-entries BEGINNING with "server1" at the same time, also server10 (my local folders). My local-folder-folder was not deleted, just the reference. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. I would reproduce it by creating more then ten accounts 2. Delete the first account via preferences window Actual Results: Haven't tried again. Expected Results: Don't delete other entries in the prefs.js.

I have also experienced this bug, with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20030925, and found it reproducible with my setup (after restoring from backup). When attempting to delete an account from the Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings menu item, I get a message "Account cannot be deleted". I find that some details for that account have been deleted, but also some details have been lost of other accounts which I didn't want to delete. *** This is indeed CRITICAL because settings are lost which should not be deleted *** I was able to work around this by editing prefs.js by hand, deleting all references to unwanted accounts and the corresponding servers and ids. Attached: the mail section of my prefs.js as backed up before trying to delete
