Productivity team plans to take this on
Nova will promote the compact UI density to full support.
We want to know which UI density users are using and when it changes. It appears that there used to be generic telemetry for reporting pref values, but these are no longer being reported. We should introduce a new metric reflecting the current UI density setting. We likely also want to introduce a new event based on when the user changes the UI density setting in about:preferences.
TODO: do we want to report events when the "dynamic compact mode" kicks in to change the UI density, e.g. when a user resizes their window to be smaller and we automatically go to compact density?
Any telemetry may need to be wired up to the settings menu from bug 2023631
