This is one feature of outlook which everybody misses since now our company have completely shifted from outlook to Mozilla. Regards, Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
This would be cool, but it is probably difficult to implement.

This is actually not fixed. Only already entered events can be modified by typing directly, but new events cannot be entered this way. This is a real barrier of entry for people coming from outlook. In Outlook, I can plan my week in 5 min, by just typing in th time slot. In Sunbird, it takes ages. Additionally, it makes the product not very accessible, since the mouse is needed to select the day and time.
(In reply to comment #4) > This is actually not fixed. Only already entered events can be modified > by typing directly, but new events cannot be entered this way. This is wrong. Using Sunbird/Lightning 0.5pre you can just drag and drop the targeted time slot to create a new event. Afterwards you are immediately in editing mode and just need to type the title. You only have to open the Edit Event dialog if you want to add more information, e.g. a location or meeting participants. You can either download a nightly build to check out all the new functionality or wait for the next release.
Stefan, you are right. I was using an old version. The current functionality is a great step forward but still lacks something (for me anyway). In outlook, I start by selecting 8:00 AM half hour in Monay, and I can type my whole week by just typing the event, then going down to my next event and right to next day. The fact that Sunbird does not support a time slot selection model makes this harder to do. Do you see where I am getting at? In any case, thanks for the heads up on the dragging scheduling. It is a big help as I try to stick with Sunbird for a while.
