User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:140.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/140.0
Steps to reproduce:
Access the following website:
https://br.investing.com/economic-calendar
and let the window/tab open while continuing to navigate on other windows/tabs or use other software to do something else or simply do nothing
Actual results:
RAM consumption started to increase until full filled. PC become slow and unresponsive. The increase in RAM consumption occurred as time wet on.
In repeated tests (I've tried it more than 5 times), the RAM consumption increased from ~2GB to ~10GB in less than 10 minutes
Additional info:
- all extensions were disabled in some tests and the result was the same
- operating system is Slackware 15.0 (64-bit)
- closing just the window/tab of the referred website stops the increase in RAM consumption and memory is freed
- on Ubuntu 24.04 with FF 149.0.2, there is also a small increase on RAM consumption with time just by leaving the window/tab open, but the increase was of the order 1GB in one hour in my test
Expected results:
The RAM consumption should increase only a few hundreds MB, not more than 1.2 GB, as verified using Chromium for the same website.
