Environment:
Operating system: Windows 10
Firefox version: Firefox 149.0
Preconditions:
- a Google Workspace account that has the "Help me write" AI feature enabled (LDAP for Mozilla works)
Steps to reproduce:
- Navigate to: https://mail.google.com/ and login
- Click "Compose" to open a new email
- Click the "Help me write" button (pencil/star icon) in the compose toolbar (next to the "Send" button
- Enter a prompt title, then click "Create"
- Accept/insert the generated text into the email body.
- Observe the compose text field
Expected Behavior:
A blinking text cursor (caret) should be visible in the email body field after the AI-generated text is inserted, indicating the current input position
Actual Behavior:
No blinking cursor is visible in the email body field
Notes:
- Reproduces regardless of the status of ETP
- Reproduces in firefox-nightly, and firefox-release
- Does not reproduce in chrome

- The issue persists until the compose window is closed and a new one is opened.
- Typing, selecting text, and other input actions still function correctly; only the visual cursor indicator is missing

Since nightly and release are affected, beta will likely be affected too.
