Steps to reproduce
- Open a new tab and focus the URL bar.
- Look for a QR code scanner button.
Expected behavior
QR code scanner UI should be available somewhere, to let users visit QR-code-encoded URLs.
Actual behavior
QR code scanner UI has been replaced with Google Lens prototype (an icon with a little cartoon landscape-painting).
Device information
- Firefox version: 151.0a1
- Android device model: Pixel 6a, Pixel 10 Pro XL
- Android OS version: 16
Any additional information?
Here's the regression-range pushlog for this change:

In there, I'm assuming this was from bug 2024375 (that seems to be what added the new button, which presumably is responsible for the QR code scanner button disappearing).

Ah, I just noticed bug 2028573 comment 2, "QR code detection moved to a future update for this entry flow." So maybe this is a known defect - if there's already a bug filed on getting this working, feel free to dupe to that one.
