Preconditions

Steps to reproduce

  1. Browse to https://addons.mozilla.org and look for KeePassXC- Browser add-on and install it.
  2. Open the extensions overflow menu and click on the KeePassXC icon to open the extension's interface.

Expected result

  • Extension's interface is opened and shows the following message:
    KeePassXC-Browser has not been configured. Press the connect button to pair with KeePassXC

Actual result

  • "KeePassXC-Browser has encountered an error:
    Cannot connect to KeePassXC. Check that browser integration is enabled in KeePassXC settings.

Regression range

  • N/A.

Additional notes

  • This issue seems to be specific to Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, as I cannot reproduce it on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
  • Note that I cannot reproduce the issue with tar.xz builds.
  • Please contact me for access to the installation info on app.nuclino.com.

Thinker, do we know of any snap changes in Ubuntu 26.04 LTS that might be causing this. If so, it may affect all native messaging extensions.
