Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:149.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/149.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Open a context menu by pressing and holding right click
- Move the pointer over the popup
- Left click
- Finally release the right click
GNOME 50, Firefox 149.0.2 and nightly.
Weirdly, there was a point in time where stable was affected but nightly wasn't.
Today, I can reproduce equally in 149 and nightly
Actual results:
The popup menu items do not get highlighted on pointer hover. Instead, widgets in the top-left region of the main window get highlighted as if they were being hovered.
The left click is eaten by the main window too.
Expected results:
Mouse input is correctly redirected to the popup menu.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Can you use mozregression to find the broken commit?
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_Firefox_problems#Use_Mozregression_tool
Thanks.
It's not a regression, reproducible back to 2020-02-01 build with GNOME 50 on Ubuntu 26.04 (mutter 50.1).
Seems like a duplicate of Bug 1984812.
