Ok, this may sound convoluted at first but i can reproduce it in a number of
situations and with a number of web pages... here goes.
On web pages with lists of links, it may be desireable to open the choice link
in a new window (by using the Apple key and clicking for example) to keep the
contents of the list where you want them. So, you end up with a new page with
the target, and the list page remains where you were on it, so you can close the
window you are viewing and resume your list browsing.
All well and good. If you leave the new target page open, and then switch
windows back to the "list page", click on any link in the list except not with
the Apple key this time, you go to the target. You should now have two pages
open that look the same, with the exception that on the most recent one, you
will have history, which will allow you to use the Back button.
When you do use the back button, you will go back to the list page in the
appropriate place you left it, but the vertical scroll bar will appear as though
it is at the top of the page, until it is clicked on, at which point Camino will
scroll to the top of the page.
Any web page that consists of a long list of links will create this problem.
Where I just saw it tonight was at www.towerhobbies.com.
Pick any category to get a list of products. Use the method described above.
you should see the problem.
If you can't replicate it, please let me know. I don't think I'm nuts!
Keep up the good work.
Jason
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to a web page with a list of links
2.scroll to a position in the list that is outside your view when the page is
all the way at the top.
3.follow a link from that section by clicking the link with the apple key down
to produce a new window
4. switch back to the window with the list and follow a link
5. in that same window, click the "Back" button
Actual Results:
you will see that the vertical scroll bar in the window after you pressed the
"back" button is at the topmost position, while the content in the window is at
the last place you left it. Clicking the scroll bar results in a jump to the
top of the page.
Expected Results:
If the viewing position on the page is maintained, the scroll bar should be in a
position to match the viewing position.
I am using the default theme and settings for Camino. I am not sure if this
could be related to the scroll bar behavior setting in MacOS X Appearance Panel.
Probably a dup.
