Bug 2037947 introduced WidgetWrapper as the actual grid item, with grid spans now driven by the pref size in _WidgetWrapper.scss. That broke the clocks panel’s runtime “expand to large while editing” behavior, since the inner article’s .large-widget class no longer affects layout once the wrapper owns the grid slot.
