This issue has shown up in multiple Reddit posts, but we don't have repeatable steps yet. Filing this is as a catch-all as we investigate the issue.
Context:
As part of Nova, we created a new unified Weather widget, deprecating the previous Weather component.
To help migrate users, we added a helper to determine the correct size of the weather widget. The feature itself used the same region/logic to enable the feature.

Repeating this here, I've hit this issue and will be happy to debug if necessary

I have 2 keys in about:config
browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.widgets.system.weather.enabledset to falsebrowser.newtabpage.activity-stream.widgets.weather.enabledset to true (looks like this one is managed by the UI, and has no effect)
For me, both need to be set to true in order for the widget to show up.

I have 2 keys in about:config
browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.widgets.system.weather.enabledset to falsebrowser.newtabpage.activity-stream.widgets.weather.enabledset to true (looks like this one is managed by the UI, and has no effect)For me, both need to be set to true in order for the widget to show up.
Indeed, browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.widgets.system.weather.enabled is set to False by default and enabling it display the widget again. Thx for that @Francesco Lodolo [:flod]
However, the option/setting for detailed view is lacking in the widget menu, and despite browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.weather.display is set to detailed by default it don't seems to work.
For me, both keys are set to true, but I still can't see the weather widget.
Tested on Firefox 153.0.1, Windows 10 and 11, and Linux (EndeavourOS/KDE).
Changing browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.widgets.weather.size from medium to small brings the widget back, but it's located in the top-right corner, and I can display the weather for one location only (I had two locations before the bug appeared).
Everything is back to normal for me (Firefox 153.0.3, widget size = medium, New Tab 154.8.20260716.43450 to Release 152 (WCW v9)). I guess the New Tab plugin just received an update?
Thx!
