User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 I delete two mails without reading them. Upon doing this, the "Trash" folder becomes bold and it shows (2). Now I right click on the folder and say "Empty trash". The folder gets empty but it is still in bold and still shows (2) against itself. I click on someother folder and click back on Trash. Then very slowly it becomes unbold and removes that (2) against itself. So even when the trash is going empty the tree is not getting refreshed to show the empty status of the trash can. it only refreshes itself upon clicking some other node and then the trash can node again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Delete an unread mail 2.observe the status of the node "TrashCan" in the node. It should be bold and should show the number of unread mails inside it. 3.Right click and emptry trash can. 4. the status of the node in the tree is not updated. it is still in black and still shows (n) number of unread mails inside it... even when the trash has been cleared. 5. click on any other folder 6. click on trash can back 7. Now the trash can is displayed properly in the tree. Actual Results: Tree does not reflect the status of the trash can correctly. Expected Results: As soon as I select "empty trash can" the node in the tree view must change itself to the current status of the trash can.

is this a local Trash Folder, or on IMAP?
yes this looks like a duplicate of the bug# 161999 The folder I am talking about is the local trash can. and also the trash can of my pop3 account. This error appears in both places.
