Environment:
- Firefox Nightly 153.0a1 (2026-05-28) (64-bit) [Built-in VPN Integration]
Prerequisites
- Firefox Nightly is installed and the built-in Firefox VPN integration is enabled/configured.
- The user is signed into an account that should have unlimited bandwidth under the new implementation.
Steps to Reproduce
- Launch Firefox Nightly and toggle the integrated VPN feature to ON.
- Consume 50 GB of data/bandwidth strictly through the Firefox browser (e.g., via large file downloads or high-definition streaming).
- Observe the browser's VPN UI panel and behavior immediately upon hitting the 50 GB threshold.
Expected Results
- The integrated VPN connection remains active and seamless. Because the new implementation provides unlimited bandwidth, no data caps should trigger and no warning dialogs should appear.
Actual Results
- The Firefox VPN integration enters a paused state, and a "VPN Paused" dialog or notification is displayed within the browser, incorrectly enforcing the legacy 50 GB limit.
Notes
- The bug indicates that the legacy 50 GB cap logic remains active within the browser integration codebase and was not properly removed or bypassed for the unlimited bandwidth.
