204439 - write converters/shapers for additional Indic scripts (for Xft builds)

Last fall, ftang did a preliminary investigation of Indic script support, but it
was apparently
futured perhaps due to the lack of help. [1]

Recently I talked to Prabhat and Taneem Ahmed and other
people  in IndLinux and Bangla Linux group about the possibility of supporting 
Indic scripts in Xft build taking advantage of the fix for bug 176290 (as is
done for 
Tamil in bug 204039, Devanagari in bug 204286 and Korean in bug 176315).

 Taneem Ahmed has been very helpful and is willing to write converters/shapers
for Bangla and possibly other scripts. I'll put up our messages exchanged
somewhere (with the permission of participants).

Summarizing our discussion, we have decided :

  1. remap  Akruti fonts to  make them have  nominal glyphs in regular
     Unicode code points for Indic scripts and presentation forms in
     the PUA. 

  2. The PUA assignment will be aligned with that of sun-unicode-india-0.
      (a couple of TTFs in this encoding will be made available soon
       at http://www.sun.com/developers/gadc)

  3. The reasoning behind #2 is that Prabhat wrote shapers (similar to
     hindiShaper in intl/ctl/src/pangoLite) for a few  other Indic scripts a
long time
     ago. Aligning the PUA assignment of remapped Akruti fonts with
sun-unicode-india-0
     will enable us to make use of his shapers without any modification.

There are no XFT builds any more.
