After Installation of the latest calendar for Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030502 the browser-window (and also those of all other components were destroyed and showed some ugly red text as shown in the att. We had a similar bug, might be helpful to have a look to bug 130331 The problem was solved after I deleted the file XUL.mfl in my profile

Destroyed Window after Calendar-Installation
On the other hand: today no problem with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 and actual calendar-xpi Mozilla Calendar 2003033112-cal
Relation to bug 205797 ?
I think this problem could be caused by the wrong calendar language files (subfolder locale). In calendar08_windows.xpi some locale files have different file names than those of the current calendar_windows.xpi. For example, the file overlay.rdf of calendar_windows.xpi is still called calendarOverlay.dtd in calendar08_windows.xpi.
