Enable vertical tabs and run the following code in console:

gNotificationBox.appendNotification("test", {});

Observe that the notification bar is lack of the background color which the bookmarks toolbar has.

I'm not sure if its expected that the notification bar is opaque or translucent here. But I don't think tab orientation is factor - its the same behavior either way.
We can also see the corner radius may need adjusting for nova there - I'm not sure if that's on file yet.

The updated Nova styles for the Notification bar have not been implemented, closing as dupe of 2045878.
