User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:152.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/152.0
Steps to reproduce:
-
Disable the "When opening links or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" setting in the settings section.
-
Type any text into the address bar or search bar (if added to the toolbar).
-
Middle click any result from the address or search bar's dropdown list of results.
Actual results:
The result opens in a new tab that is switched to immediately.
Expected results:
The link should open in a new tab in the background (this is the behavior almost everywhere else in Firefox when middle-clicking with "When opening links or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" disabled).

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
