Steps to reproduce:

On a Mac OS 26.5.1 (25F80).

Open any web page. Cmd-P to trigger Print dialog. Choose Save to PDF, Hit "Save". In the file dialog popped up, try to use Cmd-V to paste text into the file name text box. It won't work.

Actual results:

No text is pasted.

Expected results:

Text should be pasted.

It used to work before I recently updated Firefox....

Actually all Mac keyboard short cuts stopped working, including Cmd-Z undo.

This is Firefox specific bug, it does not reproduce in other browsers. It also used to work in earlier versions of Firefox on Mac.

I guess https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2047850 caused this regression.

My previous version was 'Firefox 152.0.1 (20260617213557)' and it didn't possess this bug.

Typo above: my current version is Firefox 152.0.1 (20260617213557), which HAS this bug.

My previous version is Firefox 151.0.3 (20260601110758), and did not have this bug.

Hm, I can reproduce this on 152.0.1 on M1 MacBook with Tahoe.
I cannot reproduce this on Nightly any build it seems, because they seem to use different file pickers.
Type of picker shown in the screenshot seems to behave as the author describes - I can't paste into it.

This picker is used for nightly - I can paste into it fine.

They are the same picker on Mac, the difference is just whether you toggle expand or collapse the "Where" (Destination Folder) box on the right middle of the pane.

I'd appreciate if someone can look into this bug, this pasting text as filenames while saving PDFs is a key workflow of mine... this bug is almost a deal-breaker for me to have to switch to another browser...

This is fixed by bug 2040851 and bug 2040844 and is currently in Beta.
