Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 When I'm in Chatzilla, and I swap to the browser (clicking on a link for instance, or presing cmd-1), and then swap back to Chatzilla (cmd-3), the focus is inside the view-window, and not inside the input-textfield at the bottom. Teh view is scrolled at the corretc place, whcih is normally the last line. But when you try to continue the conversation, the window will jump all over the place. The reason is that the focus is inside the view-window, and type ahead is active. So when I try to type "I see", I get teleported immediately to the first occurence of the letter I *from the top* (which is normally exactly the opposite from what I was looking at). I think that the focus should automatically be to the input-field, which should prevent these problem. Chatzilla mainly for chatting, which requires the keyboard. Looking up things in the history is a much lower priority itme, so I'm happy to force the focus to the the view-window, before I start to use typeahead find or a regular find. I looked for a duplicate, but I couldn't find one. Bug 74408 talks about the same issues, but doesn't seem to work anymore.

When you click a link in CZ, you move the focus from the input box to the output. Not Mac only.
OS: MacOS X → All
Hardware: Macintosh → All

Pressing ESC should bring the focus back to the textbox.

I'm seeing this bug on 1.5 release / win32. Comment #2's suggestion works for me.

After you click a link, this puts the focus back in the input so when you return to the ChatZilla window it's where you want it. If you change back to the ChatZilla window by clicking in the chat area, it won't work, but it's better than nothing.
