When using certain themes (e.g., Spirited Away) that do not define a background or border color for the selected tab, the selected tab becomes unrecognizable once the box-shadow is removed. As a result, it is difficult to visually distinguish the selected tab from others.

:nsharpley, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 2049498, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?
For more information, please visit BugBot documentation.
I'm seeing this with the "Linux System Theme" on KDE Linux — it's almost impossible to tell which tab is selected (the colours are not distinguishable except if I look at my LCD screen at an extreme angle, and the '×' close window button is unobtrusive enough to not be immediately recognisable). Screenshot attached.
This basically forces either a switch away from the system theme, or disabling nova entirely: firefox is not really usable like this.

The shadow was brought back in bug 2062042, should be fixed now. If it is still an issue please share another screenshot and reopen/file again. Thanks!
