Please summarize the request, emphasizing any user-facing changes. Include historical context or background information if it helps users understand the new features or changes. - We're enhancing the Privacy Panel (the shield icon in the address bar) to make Firefox's privacy protections more visible. When a user visits a site for the first time in a session and Firefox has blocked trackers for the site, the shield icon briefly animates and expands to display the number of trackers blocked on that site. The animation is designed to draw the user's attention to the Privacy Panel, helping them understand that Firefox is actively protecting them from online tracking and encouraging them to click the shield icon to learn more. The animation is shown only once per site per session. Afterward, the blocked tracker count remains available in the Privacy Panel, where users can view it at any time. Users can also disable the animation in ETP settings.
https://www.figma.com/design/ryPGpNyz1ziRQz4975sDJw/Felt-Privacy-Quick-Wins?node-id=11938-15267&m=dev We would like the existing ETP article to be updated to mention the new animation and how to disable it.
Are the user-facing changes mentioned above for the production release, or is the feature/change experimental/ beta? (Production, Experimental or Beta) - Targeting Fx 154 as a experiment. If a win, we'll roll it out 100%.
Are the new features or changes region-specific? Are they going to be released in a gradual rollout? Not region specific. Will roll out as an A/B experiment at first, if a win then roll out changes to 100%.
Please indicate if this is an on- or off-train release - ON
What is the anticipated release date? Targeting Fx 154 as a experiment. If a win, we'll roll it out 100%.
Does the content need to be published prior to the release date? If so, when? - NO
Does the content need to be localized in any languages outside of EN-US? If yes, please indicate which languages. - Yes for all supported regions
Please include any related JIRA/Github/Bugzilla tickets, documentation, demos or practical use cases. - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DIVj8i2OrisaoPyCJXERVG6X2h6xWVGB_IEPep_7pIo/edit?usp=sharing

There are updates for fx152 that are still pending, which should be reviewed before a new revision is made. Flavius, can you review?

I have written a draft here and tagged Helen: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c6kwQwg6xw0JFNY7rjlk_VOV6mxLenlgpX6m3OE4d0E/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.z2sizinyuk79
Hi Flavis - I added my comments to the document and I also think some supporting visuals will help.

See: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop/history A revision to the Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop article was approved two days ago; it updated the How to tell when Firefox is protecting you section {for fx154} with information about the new shield animation feature and the "Show tracker information in the address bar" setting you can select to turn it off: Image
Shouldn't the new section include [[Template:progressiverollout]] or another explanation that this feature is an experiment and not all uses will see it? I don't see the new setting in Firefox 154 beta on Windows 11 (en-US). I do see a "Show trackers blocked in address bar" setting in Nightly 155 (see attached).

I submitted a new revision to the How to tell when Firefox is protecting you section of the article for fx154. I moved the "Blocking" and "Inactive" shield icon bullet points from the bottom to the top of the section and I added a new "Shield animation feature" heading and the Template:progressiverollout underneath, since the bug description indicates Targeting Fx 154 as a experiment. If a win, we'll roll it out 100%.
