When I save an image or file from the browser using either right-click
"Save Target As..." or "Save Image As..." or when clicking on a ZIP file
and getting the option to save, the browser pretty quickly pulls up the
panel to pick a filename.  After typing in a filename, the browser hangs
for approximately 12 seconds.  It appears to wake up about halfway through
this time to handle repaint and perhaps a mouse event or two before hanging
again.  During the hang times, the window is totally non-responsive.

I have duplicated this using Netscape 6.0, Netscape 7.0.2, and Mozilla 1.3.1
on Windows XP.

It is possible that the problem is due to some legacy config or such on the
machine.  This machine was using Netscape 4.x for a long while.  When I
installed Netscape 6.0, it pulled in the old config automatically.  Netscape
7.0.2 did the same thing.  And Mozilla 1.3.1 did so as well.  So there may
be an old setting laying around that is causing the behavior.
It may also be a Windows XP problem.  I am not sure which.

The hang happens regardless of whether the chosen item to save is in the
broswer cache or not.  The hang happens regardless of whether I use a
save progress window, the download manager, or have it "do nothing" when
downloading.

Is this a browser bug that others see?  If so, I can't find it in the bug
database.  Is there a setting I can change in the config files to fix this?  
Is this a Windows XP problem?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click on an image
2. Choose "Save Image As..."
3. Enter a filename

Actual Results:  
The browser (actually entire Mozilla process) hangs for 12 seconds.

Expected Results:  
Saved the image from the cache immediately, or opened the save progress window
(or download manager).

I have been using the Netscape classic theme.  Mozilla picked that up.
I am not running any virus protection software or other apps that would
intercept a file save.
Internet Explorer does not show any delays saving the same files/images.

Can you try to create an additional test profile ?
(run "mozilla -profilemanager" while Mozilla isn't running)

I created a new profile.  The problem persists in the old profile but
does not exist in the new one.  It definitely was something leftover
from multiple upgrades.  Thanks - Stephen.
