Preconditions

• Start Firefox with a new profile.
• Enable Compact density in about:preferences#appearance.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open the App menu and click Create a New Profile.
2. After the profile is created, switch back to the original profile and open the App menu.
3. Observe the Original profile menu item.

Expected result

• The Create a New Profile menu item is replaced with the Original profile menu item, which should be aligned and have the same height as the other App menu items.

Actual result

• The Original profile menu item is taller than the other menu items, which is especially noticeable when hovering over it.
• The icon of the Create a New Profile was removed in Bug 2055860 to improve alignment with the other menu items, but it is still displayed for the created profiles. It is unclear whether an icon is still expected to be displayed after creating the first profile.

Regression range

• The current behavior was introduced with the new Nova styling.

Additional notes

• Reproducible when Nova is both enabled and disabled.

Noting that this is dependent on reducing the profile icons size, and we'll have to address it post Nova.

I can no longer reproduce the height issue on the latest Nightly 157.0a1 Build ID: 20260831085937 on Windows 11 and Ubuntu 24.04.

However, there still is the issue with the icon still being displayed in the left side of the profiles menu when opening the APP menu.

@Ania, should the profile icons be removed from the App menu to improve alignment with the other menu items, as in Bug 2055860?
