Steps to reproduce:

upgraded thunderbird from 140 to 153 on linuxmint

Actual results:

now connections to my hotmail account time out. Don't know whether this is related to the new exchange code, a side effect of the inability to login to yahoo, or something unrelated.

Sending new mails fails with a timeout as well.

Expected results:

access to mails in the different mail folders work. Sending mails should work.

I need to update the bug description:

The bug can affect access to traditional password based imap accounts as well. When thunderbird starts, they work fine. And they worked fine for the last days since I've upgraded. Today, I ran into connection timeouts on them as well: mail was sent out, but storing the mail into the send-folder never finished. After this, new mail was not fetched anymore.

you can close this bug report. Don't know whether this was a side effect of the yahoo login not working on linux issue and the delegation to login via firefox, which was rolled back in the meantime. But the problem doesn't show anymore in thunderbird 153.2.0esr. Yahoo login still fails on linux though, but we have other tickets for this.
