User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 If you use the option wmode=opaque (or wmode=transparent) with an embedded shockwave flash document, the swf get's useless, because it's impossible to press any buttons within the swf document. It's like there would be an invisible layer over the movie. So now you ask "why should one want to use the wmode command" ? Because it speeds up the Shockwave-Flashmovie a whole lot ! you can try it: use http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003/index_mozilla.html for a slow but working version, http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003 for a fast but buggy version the only difference is the wmode=opaque option in the source code ! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.compare the speed, check source code and decide 2.http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003 3.http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003/index_mozilla.html Actual Results: the swf loads completly normal, but all buttons in the flashmovie don't work Expected Results: -
http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003 works for me, I press on the button and then it shows "Your sytem is compatible ...", now I don't press the second button but I think that it will also works. Which version of the Flash plugin are you using? (use about:plugins) win 98, Mozilla 2003051216, Shockwave Flash 6.0 r79
According to a mail from Florian the page didn't have the wmode parameter when I tested. I did it again and I saw the behaviour described in the bug. Nevertheless, the code of the page isn't right: <div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:0px; top:0px; width:100%; height:98%; z-index:1"> <param name=movie value="http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003/konzept/konzept.swf" wmode=opaque> <embed width="100%" height="100%" id=farbtiefe src="http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003/konzept/konzept.swf" menu=false wmode=opaque> <param name=menu value=false> <param name=quality value=high> <param name=bgcolor value=#FFFFFF> </embed> </div> I don't understand why IExplorer shows the flash as there is no <object>, removing just the first <param > make the flash work normaly, and adding the <object> and placing the <param> outside <embed> make the flash works again. : <div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:0px; top:0px; width:100%; height:98%; z-index:1"> <OBJECT codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="fmovie" name="fmovie" ALIGN=""> <param name=movie value="http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003/konzept/konzept.swf" wmode=opaque> <param name=menu value=false> <param name=quality value=high> <param name=bgcolor value=#FFFFFF> <embed width="100%" height="100%" id=farbtiefe src="http://www.flashmark-benchmark.de/2003/konzept/konzept.swf" menu=false wmode=opaque> </embed> </object> I think that this is invalid
