It seems that mozilla s/mime just matches the last. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Thawte freemail cert with more than one email address 2. get a signed email from outlook or any email client with this cert an the first mail address in the cert as sender. 3. mozilla does not match the email sender Actual Results: - mozilla gets a valid cert - but doesn't identify the validity of the sender Expected Results: should show a correctly singed email

You are reporting this bug against Mozilla 1.3 I confirm 1.3 does not yet support certs having multiple email addresses correctly. However, Mozilla 1.4 beta and the upcoming 1.4 final should support it correctly. Please comment in bug 50823 if you still see problems. I did my tests using a Thawte cert, too. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 50823 ***
