Prerequisites

• User is on the "VPN" Settings screen with active VPN access (FxA signed in to VPN)

Steps to reproduce

1. Tap the VPN field or toggle control.
2. Tap the VPN field or toggle again before the initial tap animation finishes.

Expected behavior

The VPN toggle consistently responds to tap interactions regardless of ongoing animation states.

Actual behavior

The VPN toggle becomes unresponsive if tapped before the tap animation completes.

• Firefox version: Fx Nightly 156.0a1 (Build #2016179263)
• Android device model: Google Pixel 7a
• Android OS version: Android 16

This is expected behaviour - we've removed the ability to tap on the toggle very quickly while a network request is on going. We can probably do better in the future by greying out the toggle button until it can be toggled again. Would that make it more clear? If so, we can turn this into a feature request.

Thanks Jonathan. Greying it out could be a possible solution. I'm just wondering how users might react to the delay, since mobile interactions are fast-paced and friction like this can lead to drop-off. That said, the current behavior isn't helping either, so a solution is definitely needed to make the actions feel intentional rather than buggy. Also, a heads-up that this doesn't only happen with the toggle, but in the menus as well (I've updated the bug info with this).

Verified as still reproducible in Firefox version: Fx Nightly 159.0a1 (Build #2016188847), Android device model: Samsung S24 SM-S921B, Android OS version: Android 16.
