RFE for an interface which stores user's config in a name service like LDAP or
NIS+ (or FNS(=Federated Naming Service)).
Maybe there's also the need for an "#include"-like statement that group-based
configs in the name service can be parsed/processed before the users's config is
processed...

This does sound like 17048 --- Roland, I'd suggest moving any unique information
from this bug over to 17048 and using it as the tracking bug.
(Or, if you feel this is different, please re-open it, and mark it [HELP
WANTED].)
