User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 When setting up SMTP account using a name that does not contains dots (.) (i.e.: sh9_Exchange_08), the wizard gives an error message saying "Please enter a valid Host Name". To circumvent the issue, I've used the IP Address (ie.: 10.22.123.14) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. On the Menu, select : Edit -> Mail & Newsgroup account settings 2. Select : Outgoing Server (SMTP) 3. Enter "s99_exchange_01" in the "Server Name" field and press enter. The error message will be displayed. Actual Results: The following error message pops up: "Please enter a valid Host Name" Expected Results: For an adresse like that, simply ask the user to confirm that this is a valid SMTP server name.
-> Account Manager Does "sh9_Exchange_08." work ? This would be invalid if that works (should work)
Component: Networking: SMTP → Account Manager
-> confirming as enhancement it works with a dot at the end but mozilla should add this point internal

I suck, it's not the missing "." at the end, it's the invalid "_"
