User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030509 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030509 In sending a *.doc file as an attachment I find that it gets corrupted at the recipient's end. On further exploration I find that any .doc I send gets corrupted, and an individual .doc file gets corrupted in EXACTLY THE SAME WAY. I did a byte by byte comparison, and it looks like a hiccup in the file, with a few extra copies of bytes put into the file stream. For example a certain 7680 byte file always becomes 7718 bytes. I tried a different install of 1.4b (as well as 1.3), and different machines for senders/recipients, even sending the file to myself. The result is always identical, with identical corruption of the file! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Attach a .doc file using right-click|attach 2. Send the file 3. Recipient saves the file to the desktop Actual Results: File is corrupted. Expected Results: Not corrupt the file. eComstation 1.03

Just to stress and make clear, a given file is always corrupted in the identical fashion as shown by a byte by byte comparison of original and received files. This consistency is preserved for a given file even when changing the sender/receipients, machines, installs (also true for 1.3). This also occurs for other short .doc files that I have tried, each given file is always corrupted in the identical fashion. * Orest
Reporter, although it's a little bit strange you're seeing this on different machines/installs, it could nevertheless be a dupe of another bug. Please read through bug 168098 comment 4 and see if that's also the cause of your problem. Close the bug as dupe if it is - if not, the complete source of an defective mail with attachment would be nice.
