This is a request for making Emacs keys work in text fields and text areas as
they do in NS4 (and sporadically on Unix, see bug 72352).
Even Apples own products (Safari for example), support Ctrl-k/a/e/f/b/d. Just
getting these would be nice.
72352 notes that there are conflicts with some short cuts, but on Mac OS X there
is no conflict, shortcuts uses the apple key.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on the URL (location) text field.
2. Type ctrl-a, ctrl-k
3.
Actual Results:
Nothing happens.
Expected Results:
Erased the text in the text field.
For those who may not be familiar with OS X, it's worth noting that Emacs key bindings are a
standard part of the UI. They work in all Aqua applications, such as Apple's mail client.
Duping to newer bug since that has a patch.
