User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030504 Mozilla Firebird/0.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030504 Mozilla Firebird/0.6

When I select an entry from autocomplete (I have only one because its my
bank account number) the bwohle browser crashes in about 10% of the cases.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open page (it happends only with https sites it seems, but may be coincidence)
2. Start typing
3. Selcet the presented value (i have only one value, my bank account number and
I usually use the keybord for selecting it)

Actual Results:
Program crash: Message pops up (in German on my computer)
The instruction in "0x02defb05" points to memory in "0x00000000".
The action "written" could not be be executed on that memory.

Expected Results:
not crash
Summary: autocomplete crashes → autocomplete crashes
Tillman, can you also reproduce this problem using a current nightly build?
Keywords: crash, stackwanted
Most probably a duplicate of bug 184202. Resolving, please clearly state the
difference if you think this is wrong.

Tillman Weyde, be honest: did you search bugzilla for this bug before reporting it??
The other bug report has the words you used to describe this one in its subject
and it almost jumped in my face when I looked for a possible duplicate...

Yes it seems to be the same.
I did search for filed bugs, but used the wrong keywords.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
So what words did you search for???
Supposed you just entered the two words that you chose to describe this bug -
then the default bugzilla search form will show exactly one bug: the duplicate one!

It's not my inconvenience, it's the good of Mozilla: do you know that there are
currently 62138 bugs found to be duplicates (this one included)?
And because it's not always as easy to detect duplicates as in this case I guess
there are still thousands amongst the open bugs, confusing developers and
cluttering bugzilla...
But ok, this is not the place to discuss such problems.

For future reference: using the bugzilla search form you should search for
summaries, maybe also search for bugs resolved/verified as duplicate because if
the problem is frequently reported (as this one), this increases chances that
you find one of the reports.

But still thanks for testing Mozilla! Carry on and there will some better bug
reports...
;-)
Well, I admit it's my mistake. I searched for "auto-complete".
I later adopted to the official spelling "autocomplete" but
forgot to rerun the search.

Again sorry for bothering you.
Keep on developing mozilla, it's great software.
