Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:157.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/157.0

Steps to reproduce

  1. Firefox auto-updated to 157 (Nova redesign) on Windows. The new gradient appearance was applied automatically, with no prompt or opt-out offered.
  2. Default theme (System theme — auto) was active.

Actual results

The tab strip/title bar now has a horizontal gradient going from grey on the left to a reddish tint on the right. This changed without any prompt, and there is no setting to get a flat, solid background with the default theme. The only workaround was installing a separate Proton-style theme.

Expected results

The default theme should use a flat, neutral background as before, or there should be a simple option (Settings or about:config pref) to disable the gradient.
