This is pretty vague but I'm quite sure I'm looking at a Networking bug here.
I was browsing http://bugzilla.mozilla.org, loading up bugs in separate tabs,
suddenly I noticed that nothing was getting loaded. I know it's not a network
or DNS failure since I started a separate Mozilla instance to file this bug
and I can browse fine with it (while at the same time the failing instance is
still throbbing in the background).
Here are a couple of notes on the nature of the failure:
I can still open new windows and use GUI functions so it's not a total freeze.
Loading HTML files from my harddisk works fine.
Loading HTTP or FTP URLs starts the throbber but no content appears and
the status bar goes immediately to "Stopped".
It affects all windows, even newly created ones.
The failed Mozilla instance is still running in case you want me to test
something with it, I can do that if you ask me promptly.
I am using Mozilla nigthly build 2003-06-03-05 trunk Linux.
This is the first time I have seen this problem.
Using the offline/online button and clearing cache are probably the two
immediate troubleshooting steps I would use.

I'm sure I wasn't offline because Navigator displays a popup telling me so
if I try to load something that's not local. Similar for Messenger.
(Of course, the bug could be that I really was offline by mistake and that the
popups didn't appear for some reason).
Didn't try to clear the cache, but it didn't look like a typical cache problem.
I tried several different URLs, none produced any content.
I tried "Get Msgs" in Messenger, which just hanged with a busy cursor.

What surprised me most was that the status bar said "Stopped", that could be
a lead perhaps.
Having the same problem. Have to clear cache constantly to get webpages to load. Finally changed it to 0 bytes to see if that takes care of it. Can't comment on more than one blog entry without clearing cache. Can't do my cisco.netacad modules without clearing cache. It's royal pain. PC with XP.
