I can't find a setting migrated or used, that determines the root folder on the
server: All folders are written in ~/ on the server.

from what i can see, nsIMAPHostSessionList supports this with

SetOnlineHostForDir, though i don't have enough knowledge regarding reading

prefs to add.

IMAP interop is a beta stopper
Hey Ben I know I've asked you this before, but what kind of imap server are you
using.
I'm using UW-IMAP, version 4.5 (or greater?). It reports
* OK smserver.home.local IMAP4rev1 v12.250 server ready
Nominate as beta1 stopper

Putting on the PDT+ radar for beta1.

I just implemented the UI for this, and seth did the backend work to make it
migrate correctly...scott - you'll find the string you need in
nsIImapIncomingServer.serverDirectory
This bug is related to bug#2734...
Yes. I have seen the improvement for the "Advance" Preferences/Account Setup UI.
And it seemed that (on Linux)..the personal namespace UI already brought info
from 4.7 to 5.0, but I didn't try on the field of the "IMAP server directory"
yet....I am still investigating on bug#2734...
The UI part is really good improvement!!
Please see more comments/investigation from bug#2734.
bienvenu, phil and I talked about this and it isn't a beta1 bug. the only thing
we are missing is appending the root folder to new folders when the user creates
them.

Bummer.

Migration is also broken. The Sent etc. folders are searched in the home dir,
not the root mail dir.

sending over to jefft in case he has some spare cycles. Jeff, feel free to
change the target date if you are already over your M15 quota =).

Jeff,
Did you fix this or do you just refer to the UI? Ths UI is there for a longer
time (see comment from 2000-02-01), but the backend doesn't work. I still get
e.g.

+-Inbox
+-Sent
+-Draft
+-mymailroot
  +-Draft
  +-myfolder1
  +-myfolder2
  +-Sent
if I set mymailroot as root. If you didn't change anything, please reopen.
The backend is working too. If you set the mymailroot as your imap server
directory the Draft, myfolder1, myfolder2 and Sent should appear as the first
level mail folder. However, this is all depend on the subsrciption list saved in
~/.mailboxlist. We don't have the subcribe UI implemented yet. Use 4.x for
subscription then compare the behavior between seamonkey and 4.x. They should be
the same.
I'm pretty sure what you're saying is that it still doesn't work under Mozilla. I don't wanna hear there's a hackaround! Isn't it getting close to release time? And IMAP still doesn't work? How is that justified?
You have a good point. I am sure I fixed it at one time. We still have a beta2
feature crunch period. It'll probably take few months. Reopenning...

Mass moving to M16 to get these off the M15 radar. Please let me know if this
is really an M15 stopper.
Target Milestone: M15 → M16
This is important interop - beta2 nomination.
