Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030611 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030611 For a while now I noticed that even though the page says its done, when scrolling down to unseen content, you see that images are not shown. When scrolling the page they "popup". This gives the impression that the images ARE loaded, but they are not shown until you actullay scroll the page. You get this appearing images suddenly. This happends sometimes with images (backgrounds, list images etc). Clear cache to see this effect. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Empty cache and go to for example http://www.idg.se 2. Wait for page to load 3. Now scroll to the bottom, you will se the bottom blue image appear when you scroll down the page Actual Results: Image not shown, until you scrolled the page. Image then appeared. Expected Results: If page is done loading, images should be visible when scrolling down.
Another way to reprodue this: 1. Empty cache. 2. Open new tab and go to http://gemal.dk/mozilla/blogupdates.html 3. As soon as you press "go", switch back to the tab you were on. Wait for the page to finish loading. 4. Now switch to the new page, even though it finish loading you will see that the images (link arrows) will popup.
We do load any background image at *expose* time to speed up downloading. So this is done by design. However, we might want to look at only doing this for document backgrounds and not for element backgrounds.
-> All/All, however it wouldn't surprise me if this is being discussed in another bug already (and yes... I also think the current behavior /looks/ a lot like a bug even if its done intentially)
oops... really changing (OS X)... sorry for the extra spam
