Build Identifier: unable to determine -- Moz 1.4 RC2

I installed Moz 1.4 RC2.  No problems/warnings/errors on the install.
After the installation I shut down all running browsers and cd'd to
/opt/mozilla where I'd installed.  I ran "./mozilla" and... nothing.
It just hung there.  No windows popped up or anythign.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install
2. cd to target dir
3. ./mozilla

Actual Results:  
nada... no screen... nothing

does it use CPU?

can you grab a stacktrace with gdb?
