After downloading new usenet messages, most of the new messages are marked as
READ in error. It seems to be random as to which messages are marked as READ.
The affected messages are not bold either. This seems to be related to bug
59681. I have erased the *.msf files and it seems to fix the problem for about
a day then it comes back. This is very annoying as I have to click on each
message to read it. This effectively breaks the read next unread message button.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Full Install to default locations
2. Download usenet messages
3. Read/Reply
4. Wait about a day or so and the problem manifests itself.
Actual Results:
The problem as described.
Expected Results:
New messages should stay new until I either read them (message turns from bold
subject line to normal subject line), click get new messages or leave that group
(which new status disappears but messages are still bold indicating unread status)

Please try a more recent trunk build (from 6/17 or later). If you're using junk
mail controls, and pop3, there was a bug that having check for new mail fire
with pop when you had a newsgroup open would mark the new newsgroup messages
read. That might be what you're seeing.

You know, I checked bug 206217 and that is exactly what was happeneing, but this
was current as of 1.4.1 RC2 build 06/12! I downloaded the nightly build release
from 6/20 and it seems to be ok. I am using mail filtering and when I download
my regular inbox stuff, I also open newsgroups as well. Maybe we need an RC3
release? Anyways, I'm setting this to fixed as it now seems to be fixed, at
least for me. Thank you for your time on helping me resolve this.

This one is fixed after the RC2 Release and there will be a RC3 (AFAIK)
