If the Summary sounds familiar, it is. Lately I've been seeing the same behavior as bug 155013 (filed on moz)... but with a white "dead" area. Basically, any time you are scrolled to the bottom of the page and the content height changes (either by script or by making your browser wider so the content reflows) you get dead space at the bottom of the window. The document *should* stick to This doesn't happen in mozilla builds (recent trunk nightlies). This does happen in recent Camino builds including 2003061704... but I won't know without testing a few builds if its a recent regression or if I'm just noticing it recently. That info coming as soon as this is filed and on the record. Steps to reproduce via included url: 1) Load Page 2) Scroll to bottom of the page 3) Click "TV / Net Appliances" - page grows in height and scrolling sticks to the bottom 4) Click "TV / Net Appliances" again - section collapses again - content area shrinks off the bottom of the window... scrollbar gets all out of wack The make page wider method works on any page that you need to scroll down on
marking this as a regression... of sorts... 0.6 & 0.7 had this bug.. 2003032008 was good 2003032705 was good 2003040905 was bad (dark grey) ... and the few random nightlies i tested since 4/9 had the bug but varied between displaying the dark grey, the pure white i see now, or my default bg color of a slightly off white. Unfortunatly I don't have any nighlies saved before 3/20 to test when the first shit from bad -> good happened.
This bug seems to have some similarities with Bug 203467. In both bugs the page content doesn't stick to the bottom side of the container window causing paint problems of background colors and paterns.
Please test in Mozilla builds with the Classic skin. I bet that you see it there. Probably a native scrollbar issue.
hmm.. mozilla / classic seems to have another variation of this problem in that the content area pulls away from the bottom but it doesn't repaint the bottom area at all leaving lots of artifacting
so yeah... mozilla 2003062308/trunk os x w/ clean profile using classic skin is pretty broken in this regard too... but since the appearance is very different between the two (camino & mozilla) I'm going to leave the decision to move this bug to Browser->XP Toolkit/XUL Widgets up to someone who knows the code enough to say that one patch can fix both
so um yeah.. forgot about this one... looks like this is a total regression away from the work done in bug 155013... reassigning to browser
