User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030612
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030612
My preferences for cookies are set to "Enable cookies for the originating
website only". No action on my part is needed when cookies are sent for
third-party domains. Thus, I should not see the "Show cookie information" icon
on my status bar.
Further, when I leave the Web site that sent the cookie, the icon remains.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a commercial Web site that sets cookies for advertisers (e.g., a news
site such as indicated in the URL above).
Actual Results:
The icon appears and remains until I either exit Mozilla or else acknowlege it
(thereby opening the Cookie Notification popup).
Expected Results:
The icon should appear only if my preferences are set for me to take some action
when a cookie appears.

Still a problem:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910
Revised test case (inserting new step 1):
1. Set cookie permissions to "Allow cookies for the originating Web site only".
2. Go to a commercial Web site that sets cookies for advertisers (e.g., a news
site such as indicated in the URL above).

Additional information: Once the "Show cookie information" icon appeared, it
remained after I switched profiles (even though the browser window closed during
the switch). That is, it was present when the browser window for the new
profile opened, for which the home page does NOT use cookies at all.

It appears that this bug is now fixed. I'm not sure when or how that happened.
