I have Junk mail filtering enabled with automatic delete of mail designated as
junk mail in the inbox. When I try to use FILE to move an email in the junk
folder into the inbox, the mail disappears and I assume it is deleted.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Expected Results:
mail would move from junk mail folder to inbox when file is used to attempt this
transfer.

OK, I don't really understand this. I tried this and it seemed to work. Is this
IMAP or POP3? Are you saying that the message was deleted from your INBOX after
it was moved from the Junk folder? We only delete mail that you explicitly mark
as junk, so I don't think we'd delete it. Is it possible that it got marked as
junk when you opened your inbox, and moved back to the junk folder? Have you
tried 1.6?

Joe Mehaffey, do you have any response to comment 2?
See bug 206876, a potential dupe.

This problem no longer happens in version 1.8a3. I am not sure when it got fixed.
Thanks.

Hmmm...
It seems to me that in the vernacular of bug reporting and fixing, WORKSFORME
indicates that "someone" tried to duplicate a problem and was not able to do so.
As we all know, many software problems cannot be duplicated by all testers
because of differences in equipment, setup, and procedure (not to forget simply
not understanding the problem fully) which very often occurs when developers
(and others) try to duplicate a reported problem. It seems like when the
ORIGINATOR of the problem goes through the sequence he originally used to cause
the problem and the problem no longer happens on HIS setup, the status is MUCH
stronger toward the problem having been eliminated than WORKSFORME. It is right
up there with FIXED.
