Any of the 1.4 series do not run. I do not get any errors during install. But
trying to launch it results in an immediate GPF. All versions prior to the 1.4
series run just fine. I remove 1.4rc and reinstalled 1.3 and it works just fine.
I have never had this problem before.

No, Mozilla 1.4 does indeed work.
Have you installed Mozilla into an *empty* directory?
Same problem on my system - last usable version is 1.4b; every version later
than 1.4b will install without problems, but crash during startup before
displaying the splash screen. The only way back is:
- remove (de-install) mozilla completely
- install version 1.3.1
- install version 1.4b
Seems to be the same bug filed as #208322...
As usual I do _not_ install Mozilla in an empty directory since I want to keep
my old preferences etc.

You ***MUST*** install Mozilla into an empty directory!!
Your profile information is kept elsewhere, so you lose nothing by deleting your
program directory.
